The East Region organises Open Water Championships in July each year and has, for successive years, had the highest swimmer entry numbers of any regional open water event. They also serve as the individual County Championships. Races are held over 1K, 2K, 3K and 5K and are split into gender and age groups categories.
BSSC had three competitors taking part and they all performed superbly, coming 1st or 2nd in Hertfordshire:
- George Grimwood competed in the 16yrs 3km event and was 2nd in the East Region and 1st in Hertfordshire.
- Meisha Trend-Evans competed in the 17-18yrs 5km event and was 5th in the East Region and 1st in Hertfordshire.
- Grace Mason also competed in the 17-18yrs 5km event and was 12th in the East Region and 2nd in Hertfordshire.
