Clothing, hats and goggles
We recommend that when you join, you purchase a club shirt and BSSC swim hat. Unnamed swim hats are fine to start with and will arrive quicker, as named hats are only ordered a few times each season. These are available from our official club kit suppliers Stortford Sports Supplies or Swim Envy.
At Open Meets and Galas (such as Arena and Peanuts League) it is compulsory that you wear red club shirt, with black bottoms. You may wear any colour costume, but a black club swim hat must be worn when competing. A named club rucksack is useful for meets as poolside can get chaotic and it will be safe place for your swimmer’s belongings.

Swim training kit
Training equipment requirements vary by squad. The chart below shows the equipment required for the 2026/27 season. Please clearly name all equipment and bring it to every session where required. A mesh kit bag is useful for keeping equipment together; swimmers should also bring a water bottle.
