AS OF 1ST MAY 2021, WE ARE NO LONGER ABLE TO ACCEPT CHILDREN ONTO OUR WAITING LISTS FOR BEGINNER STAGES 1 & 2 LESSONS
We currently have long lists of children waiting for these stages so we will update this page when we are able to open the waiting lists again.
Bishop’s Stortford Swimming Club’s Learn to Swim school takes children from 3 1/2 years old and provides high quality swimming lessons based on the Swim England Learn to Swim and Aquatic Skills Frameworks (Stages 1 – 10 and Bronze/Silver/Gold). Swimmers showing good progress through the later stages of the framework can trial to join the BSSC competitive swim squads.
Lessons at Bishop’s Stortford College Pool are held on Sundays from 3:00 – 6:00pm. We also hope to start lessons again at Leventhorpe School Pool on Mondays and Wednesdays, but as yet have no date for this. Each course of lessons normally ranges between 10 and 14 weeks in length, dependent upon the Hertfordshire school term. Our Learn to Swim lessons have some of the lowest teacher pupil ratios in the area with a maximum of 8 swimmers per lesson.
For further information or to book a course of lessons please send a message to our Learn to Swim Administrator. Please tell us the age of your child and if they have had previous lessons, the Stage of lessons you require. You can also find us on our Facebook page.
Please do not email us at this time if your child has never had lessons before. We have, unfortunately, had to close our waiting lists for Stage 1 & 2 beginner lessons.
