Twenty-eight BSSC swimmers aged 9 to 28 took part in Watford Swimming Club’s Regional Qualifier over the weekend of 2nd-3rd March. Over the two days, the swimmers took part in 101 swims, with exactly half of swims resulting in personal best times. Sixteen swimmers brought home 39 medals between them (10 Gold, 16 Silver and 13 Bronze).
The Club’s very youngest swimmers did exceptionally well, with 9- and 10-year olds Harrison Dodwell, Cian Millsom, Kenny Millsom, Linke Groenewald and Yana Patel securing medals and PBs. Congratulations to Cian, who was swimming in his very first meet and took home a Bronze medal in the 50m backstroke.
Special mention goes to the following, who achieved personal best times in all of their events:
Alexander Eustace, Beau Reilly, Cian Millsom, Guy Spearman-Baines, Isabella Crotty, Kenny Millsom, Linke Groenewald and Luca Tse.
A big ‘well done’ to Dylan Davenport, Felice Chan, Niamh James and Yana Patel who secured top three places in all of their races.
A small group of the Club’s swimmers will be competing at Putteridge Swimming Club’s National Qualifier in Luton over the weekend of 9th-10th March, before heading back to Luton for Team Luton’s Long Course Meet on 16th and 17th March. We round off March by hosting our very own meet with Harlow Penguins Swimming Club on 23rd March! Keep up the amazing work, swimmers (and parents!).
