Counties 2026: Top of the Medal Tables!
Following the conclusion of this year’s county Championships, BSSC finish top of the Age Group, Junior Championships and Overall medal tables as top overall club in Hertfordshire!
BSSC Head Coach, Jamie McLaughlin, was delighted with the result:
“I’m incredibly proud of how our swimmers performed at Counties this year. Their grit, determination and commitment to training really showed in the pool and every race reflected the progress they’ve worked so hard for. Swim England Hertfordshire County Championships 2026
Swim England Hertfordshire have released the conditions, schedule and qualifying/consideration times for Hertfordshire County Championships which will take place in January 2026.

Age groups
For 2026 there will be no 16 year old age group and this has been included in the oldest age category. However a higher number of entrants will be accepted into the 16 & older age category if they achieve the consideration times.
Qualifying and Consideration Times
These broadly remain the same; however some QT and CTs have been reduced due to the higher standards achieved. These times are highlighted in blue on the QT/CT sheet. If you want to see how your swimmer is progressing with regards to the qualifying times, see the ‘Qualifying’ tab on Swim Manager.
Age as at 31 December 2026
Please remember that a swimmer’s age for County Championships is age as at 31st December 2026 (e.g. if you are born in 2012, your age group will be the 14 year age group). Times must have been achieved at a licensed meet between 17th May and 7th December 2025.
Counties medals final tally: a bumper year for BSSC
We’re absolutely thrilled to share the final medal tallies and tables from this year’s County Championships, and the numbers speak for themselves:
- Overall – 145 medals (up from 87 in 2024)
- Junior Championship – top club in Hertfordshire!
- 88 Age Group medals (up from 56 last year)
- Qualifiers – 60 swimmers (up from 43 in 2024)
- Championship – second-placed club in Hertfordshire
