We are delighted to announce that 60 BSSC swimmers have qualified for the 2025 Swim England Hertfordshire County Championships. This represents a significant increase on the 43 swimmers who qualified for last year’s Championships. For many of these swimmers, this is their first time achieving this milestone and we couldn’t be more proud.
To everyone who has qualified – well done! To those who came so close, we are immensely proud of you too.
Best of luck everyone!
The latest information for the Swim Hertfordshire County Championships is now available on Swim Hertfordshire’s website.
We have also updated our Guide to Counties and you can find a recording of last year’s Counties here. If your swimmer is new to Counties, they might want to watch some of last year’s event so they know what to expect.

Swim England Hertfordshire have released the conditions, schedule and qualifying/consideration times for Hertfordshire County Championships which will take place in January and February 2025.
Key Documents
We will try to keep these document versions up to date, but the latest versions should be available on the County website as we get closer to the date of the competition.

Venue
The major change this year is that the Championships will be held at Westminster Lodge pool.
Age groups
For 2025 there will be no 16 year old age group and this has been included in the oldest age category. However a higher number of entrants will be accepted into the 16 & older age category if they achieve the consideration times.
Qualifying and Consideration Times
These broadly remain the same; however some QT and CTs have been reduced due to the higher standards achieved. These times are highlighted in blue on the QT/CT sheet. If you want to see how your swimmer is progressing with regards to the qualifying times, see the ‘Qualifying’ tab on Swim Manager.
Age as at 31 December 2025
Please remember that a swimmer’s age for County Championships is age as at 31st December 2025 (e.g. if you are born in 2012, your age group will be the 13 year age group). Times must have been achieved at a licensed meet between 1st April and 8th December 2024.

As our club continues to grow, we will naturally have a number of our swimmers attending competitions for the first time. Even those who have been with the club for 2-3 years will not have experienced many events, so we have created a guide that aims to answer those common questions of what should we bring, where are we going, what do we do when we get there etc etc! It applies to events held for just our club at our home pool and those run by clubs further afield.
We hope you find it useful. Even if you’re an old hand at this, please have a glance through it and let us know if anything is missing or can be improved.
