Wow, 2025 is flying by! Since we last shared a newsletter we’ve had Counties, sent three swimmers to Swim England’s County Development Camp, welcomed Greg Coe to present seven Top-Eight Counties awards, and celebrated 55 personal best times at Braintree’s Winter Sprints Meet. There’s lots to look forward to over the coming months, including the prestigious London Legacy Meet and our own Regional Qualifier.

In this edition of Babble, we celebrate highlights from 2025’s County Championships, share a step-by-step guide for swim parents considering joining our team of officials, and recognise newly-broken Club records and British, European and World records broken by our inspirational Masters swimmers.

Happy New Year! We hope 2025 is treating you well so far and you’re looking forward to competing in or cheering loudly at the Swim England Hertfordshire County Championships later this month!

In this edition of Babble, we introduce members of our new Rookies B squad, share plans for early 2025 including a joint Regional Qualifier Open Meet with Harlow Penguins, and look back at some of successes from the past few months, including finishing top place in Hertfordshire in the National Arena Swimming League and the fantastic Club Championships Award night we shared in November.

Welcome back to the start of another season!

BSSC has had a fantastic start to the 2024/25 season, with exciting things happening across all squads.  It’s hard to believe that we’ve only been back in the water for less than two months, given everything the swimmers have achieved in this short time. There’s far too much to list here, but highlights include: launching the new Rookies B squad and welcoming 30+ new members, a fantastic start to our Premier Division Arena League campaign, securing 14 gold medals at the Masters East Region Championships, and Dylan and Ella helping to secure Hertfordshire’s highest position in the National Team County Championships for five years!

In this edition of Babble, we reflect on some of the highlights from the season so far, welcome BSSC’s newest members, share our updated guides for parents, and take a look at what’s to come over the next few months.
