Five BSSC swimmers aged 13 to 15 have been selected to take part in National and Regional Development Programmes run by Swim England.



Guy and Summer – Swim England East Region Development Programme
Edie and Benny – Swim England National Age Group Development Programme
Rose – Swim England National Youth Development Programme
Swim England East Region Development Programme (Summer and Guy)
For swimmers who are 13 by the end of 2025, consists of two full-day camps in September and June, and selection was based on Long Course 200m IM times achieved by the end of the 2024/25 season.
This is the second step on the Swim England Talent Pathway and is developed in partnership with all of the Swim England Regions. This programme is delivered by each region and supported by the Swim England Talent team.
The programme aims to support athletes to:
- Further develop fundamental movement skills and core aquatic skills to advance physical literacy
- Further develop technical and skills across all four competitive strokes and turns
- Understand the culture of Swim England and its associated talent programmes
- Develop the characteristics in-line with the age and ‘Development’ stage of the Optimal Athlete Development Framework (OADF)
Swim England National Age Group Development Programme (Benny and Edie)
For swimmers aged 14 by the end of 2025, and selection is based on World Aquatics points obtained at Long Course events at the end of the 2024/25 season.
This is the third step on the Swim England Talent Pathway and is managed and delivered by the England Talent Team.
Programme aims to support athletes to:
- Develop technical efficiency and effectiveness across all four competitive strokes.
- Develop tactical awareness through development of race process goals.
- Develop self-awareness and self-reflection.
- Develop the characteristics in-line with ‘Future Performance Potential (FPP)’ stage of the Optimal Athlete Development Framework (OADF).
Swim England National Youth Development Programme (Rose)
For swimmers aged 15 by the end of 2025, and selection is based on World Aquatics points obtained at Long Course events at the end of the 2024/25 season.
This is the fourth step on the Swim England Talent Pathway and is managed and delivered by the England Talent Team.
Programme aims to support athletes to:
- Develop effective technical and tactical racing skills.
- Understand how training processes in the pool and on land underpin race day performance.
- Develop self-awareness and reflective practice.
- Develop the characteristics in-line with ‘Future Performance Potential (FPP)’ stage of the Optimal Athlete Development Framework (OADF).
