A number of BSSC squads were out in force at the Cambridge Jeanne Barker July Open meet on 14-15 July 2018.
It was a tough meet, across two very hot and sweaty days, but our swimmers achieved many fabulous PBs, picked up some fantastic medals and experienced some great battles (especially the Silver and Bronze 100m Freestyle battle between Imogen & Eliza!).
BSSC won 8 gold, 10 silver and 12 bronze medals and 39 fourth to sixth places, covering six age groups and 22 swimmers!
Leo Suo-Saunders (9 yrs) came away with the most golds (3), Freya Reilly (12 yrs) & Jago Derrington (11 yrs) both won 2 golds & 1 silver, whilst Aiofe James (13 yrs) won 1 gold & 1 silver.
Fergal Barry (11 yrs) won 4 silver & 2 bronze, Hannah Morgan (15/over) won 1 silver & 4 bronze, and Eliza Andrews and Olivia Ricketts (both 10 yrs) won 1 silver.
George Grimwood & Imogen Tang (both 10 yrs), Jaymee Wardell (11 yrs), Lilian Opiyo (12 yrs), Lauren Robinson & Isabella Good (both 13 yrs) all won bronze medals.
Congratulations again to all swimmers who took part, improved their times and just enjoyed being part of a squad!
Thanks once again to all the officials and volunteers who gave up their time to help poolside and well done to the parents for surviving the heat and forming the cheering squad!
