On Saturday 15th June, our youngest squads took part in Harlow Penguins Swimming Club’s 11th Eric Shepherd Meet at Harlow Leisurezone.
Twenty-two swimmers from Poussins, Benjamins, Minimes, Cadets and Juniors competed in 85 swims over the two sessions, with our youngest swimmers aged 9-11 particularly well represented.
A massive 64% of swims secured top-three places, and 70% of swims resulted in personal best times. Nearly every swimmer left with at least one medal and one PB. Our swimmers jingled home with 18 gold, 19 silver and 17 bronze medals.
A big ‘well done’ to Charlotte Cass and Linke Groenewald, who achieved personal best times and top-three spots in all of their events. Congratulations also go to Harrison Dodwell, who won a very impressive total of six gold medals (and one silver!).
