Massive congratulations to BSSC swimmer and triathlete Meisha Trend-Evans who won an World Aquathlon Bronze medal on her international Team GB début at the World Multisport Championships in Ibiza. Meisha came third in the 16-19 years age group category in an overall time of 36min 42sec, behind Catarina Felicio Santos from Portugal (35.48) and Team GB athlete Imogen Bungay (36.33).
Injury meant she was unable to run until recently, but after the 1km sea swim Meisha was the 2nd fastest swimmer overall out of 279 women (age 16 to 89) and battled through the 5km run to finish 3rd in her age group.
At a recent GB Triathlon performance assessment she was ranked 5th in her age group and is now preparing for the British Triathlon Super Series. We wish her well for this upcoming season.
