On 15th August, two BSSC swimmers, Eleanor and Grace Mason took part in the famous Traversee du Lac d’Annecy, now in its 87th year, on Lake Annecy in the French Alps.
Eleanor swam in the prestigious Coupe de la Ville d’Annecy, which was over 2.4k, from one side of the lake to the other. 822 competitors completed the race. Eleanor had a super swim and finished 57th of all swimmers, in a time of 39.28.45. She was the 11th female finisher of any age and was 7th junior female.
Grace swam in the 1k race and also had a great swim. She completed the course in 14.28.04 and finished 62nd out of a total of 520 swimmers. At just 12 she finished 20th female and 16th junior female.
Taking place on a feast day and with thousands of spectators, the event was a fantastic experience for the girls.
