As they progress, your swimmer will aspire to reach “Regionals”. The Swim England East Region Long Course (50m) Championships are held over two-three weekends in April and May and are usually split between the 50m pools of Inspire Luton and UEA Sportspark Norwich. There are event qualification times for each age group/gender which need to be achieved in the allocated window at the right level of meet (normally Levels 1-3).
Early November, the Swim England East Region also hold their Short Course (25m) Winter Championships (aka “Winter Regionals”). This is aimed at older swimmers (and lightening quick youngsters!) with single event qualification times for each gender only, which must be achieved within the qualification period at the right level of meet.
We’ve created a guide explaining how both championships work.
