Bishop’s Stortford Swimming Club’s Learn to Swim school takes children from 3 1/2 years old and provides high quality swimming lessons covering Swim England’s Learn to Swim Framework. Swimmers showing good progress through the later stages of the framework can trial to join the BSSC competitive swim squads.
Our main lessons are held at Bishop’s Stortford College Pool on Sunday afternoons from 3:00 – 6:00pm, with an additional development class (Stage 9) at 6.15-7.15pm. Each course of lessons normally ranges between 10 and 14 weeks in length, dependent upon the Hertfordshire school term.
Our Learn to Swim lessons have some of the lowest pupil/teacher ratios in the area with a maximum of eight swimmers per lesson. Our Stage 1 & 2 classes benefit from having two assistants aiding the teacher, while Stage 3 has one assistant alongside the teacher.
